To provide a digital broadcast receiver capable of executing a function having higher added value.SOLUTION: A control unit executes determination processing of an output state of content from an interface according to a combination of: control information that is received together with the content at a receiving unit and indicates a copy control state of the content; control information that specifies requirement of protection of the content; information that indicates resolution of a video of the content; and information that indicates transfer characteristics of the video of the content, and according to whether the control information that indicates the requirement of the protection can be received or not.
