Summary:To further reduce a cost when changing an image forming apparatus that transfers images in four colors of Y to K to an intermediate transfer belt to an apparatus that forms images in two colors of M and K.SOLUTION: An intermediate transfer unit is provided with an operating lever 302 that is moved in an X-axis direction by a driving force of a driving motor 315, a support member 236 that supports transfer rollers 24Y to 24K, and L-shaped levers 205Y to 205K that freely swing on shanks 255. When the operating lever 302 is moved in a state in which base ends 252 of the L-shaped levers are engaged with the operating lever 302 and leading ends 251 of the L-shaped levers are engaged with the support member 236, the L-shaped levers swing and the transfer rollers move in a far-and-near direction with respect to an intermediate transfer belt 21 through the support member. The angles of bend θ of the L-shaped levers are different from each other, and during the movement of the operating lever 302, the timing at which the transfer rollers 24Y, 24C are brought into contact with or separated from the belt is different from that for the transfer rollers 24M, 24K.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10 【課題】Y〜Kの4色の画像を中間転写ベルトに転写する画像形成装置を、M、Kの2色の画像を形成する装置に変更する場合にコストをより低減すること。【解決手段】駆動モーター315の駆動力によりX軸方向に移動する操作レバー302と、転写ローラー24Y〜24Kを支持する支持部材236と、軸部255を中心に揺動自在なL字レバー205Y〜205Kを設け、L字レバーの基端部252が操作レバー302に係合し、L字レバーの先端部251が支持部材236に係合している状態で操作レバー302が移動すると、各L字レバーが揺動して支持部材を介して転写ローラーが中間転写ベルト21に対して遠近方向に移動する。各L字レバーの屈曲角θが相互に異なり、操作レバー302の移動時に、転写ローラー24Y、24Cがベルトに当接または離隔するタイミングが転写ローラー24M、24Kとは異なる。【選択図】図10
