Summary:To provide a heat pump type water heater that can properly suppress an electric power consumption of a heat pump unit by means having simple constitution, and suitably allow the heat pump unit and a hot water storage tank unit to use a common electric power supply.SOLUTION: A heat pump type water heater A comprises control means 4, 14 which control a hot water storage operation to reserve hot water, heated using a heat pump unit U1, in a hot water storage tank 2, and the control means 4, 14 include stored hot water temperature upper-limit value setting means 14a which can set, as information related to a stored hot water temperature, an upper-limit value Tu of the stored hot water temperature set to be lower when an outside air temperature is low than when high so that in the hot water storage operation, an electric power consumption of the heat pump unit U1 does not exceed a predetermined value, the stored hot water temperature being controlled to below the upper-limit value Tu in the hot water storage operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】構成が簡易な手段により、ヒートポンプユニットの使用電力を適切に抑えることができ、ヒートポンプユニットと貯湯タンクユニットとの電源の共有化を図るのに適するヒートポンプ式給湯装置を提供する。【解決手段】ヒートポンプ式給湯装置Aは、ヒートポンプユニットU1を利用して加熱された湯水を貯湯タンク2に貯留させる貯湯運転を制御する制御手段4,14を備えており、制御手段4,14は、貯湯温度に関する情報として、前記貯湯運転時においてヒートポンプユニットU1の使用電力が所定値を超えないように、外気温度が高い場合よりも低い場合の方が低温とされた貯湯温度の上限値Tuを設定可能な貯湯温度上限値設定手段14aを含んでおり、前記貯湯運転時においては、前記貯湯温度を上限値Tu以下とする制御を実行する。【選択図】 図1
