Summary:To provide a switching device that can suppress the occurrence of energy loss due to switches such as a relay and the reduction of switch life when a plurality of batteries are connected in parallel, and can balance the voltages of the plurality of batteries with simple control, a power storage system including the device, a vehicle including the system, and a switching method.SOLUTION: A switching device includes a switching unit that switches the connection state of a plurality of batteries between a first state in which the plurality of batteries are connected in parallel and a second state other than the first state, a control unit that controls the switching unit, and a detection unit that detects a current value of a circulating current flowing in a closed circuit formed by connecting a plurality of batteries in parallel, and the control unit controls the switching unit such that the connection state of the plurality of batteries becomes the first state or the second state on the basis of the current value detected by the detection unit and a first threshold value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】複数のバッテリを並列接続する際に、リレー等のスイッチによるエネルギー損失の発生、及び、スイッチの寿命低下を抑制でき、簡単な制御により複数のバッテリの電圧を均衡化できる切替装置、その装置を含む蓄電システム、そのシステムを含む車両、及び、切替方法を提供する。【解決手段】切替装置は、複数のバッテリの接続状態を、当該複数のバッテリが並列接続された第1状態と第1状態以外の第2状態との間で切替える切替部と、切替部を制御する制御部と、複数のバッテリが並列接続されることにより形成される閉回路に流れる循環電流の電流値を検出する検出部とを含み、制御部は、検出部により検出される電流値、及び、第1しきい値に基づいて、複数のバッテリの接続状態が第1状態又は第2状態になるように切替部を制御する。【選択図】図1
