Summary:To improve rotor dynamics of a rotating shaft.SOLUTION: A rotating machine comprises: a casing for covering a rotating shaft to be rotated around an axis; a pair of radial bearings fixed to the casing for rotatably supporting the rotating shaft; a compressing part arranged between the pair of radial bearings in the direction of the axis in the casing for compressing fluid introduced from the outside of the casing; an expanding part arranged side by side with the compressing part for expanding the fluid introduced from the outside of the casing; and a thrust bearing arranged at a position close to a first end part or a second end part of the rotating shaft with respect to the compressing part and the expanding part in the direction of the axis.
