The pixel includes an upper electrode, an auxiliary electrode, a pixel electrode that collects holes as signal charges, an auxiliary electrode, and a photoelectric conversion layer positioned between the upper electrode and the pixel electrode. The voltage application circuit can selectively apply the first voltage and the second voltage to the auxiliary electrode.
