Summary:To provide: an electroluminescent element which can reduce the driving voltage without inhibiting electric energy infusion into quantum dots and has reduced damage to an underlayer caused by lamination, and is excellent in luminous efficacy and durability; a luminescent layer thereof; and an ink composition for forming them.SOLUTION: The ink composition comprises quantum dots and a solvent. The quantum dots comprise a carrier-transporting ligand having at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of a sulfanyl group and a carboxyl group. The solvent comprises one or more solvents selected from the general formulas (1) to (4).
