Summary:To provide a constant velocity universal joint which unfailingly prevents pressure rise at its interior during assembly, and to provide an assembly method of the constant velocity universal joint.SOLUTION: A constant velocity universal joint 7 includes: an outer ring member 8 including grooves 8e extending in a rotation axis direction on its inner peripheral surface; a power transmission member 10 which rolls or slides on the groove 8e; a sealing member 9 which is fitted on the outer ring member 8; and a shaft member 14 on which the sealing member 9 and the power transmission member 10 are fitted. The shaft member 14 includes: a small diameter part 14a which is located at a first end part in the rotation axis direction and on which the power transmission member 10 is fitted; a large diameter part 14e having an outer diameter larger than that of the small diameter part; a fitting groove 14b which is provided between the small diameter part 14a and the large diameter part 14e and on which the sealing member 9 is fitted; and a temporary part 14d provided adjacent to the fitting groove 14b in the rotation axis direction.
