To provide a vehicle control device capable of changing a condition to execute collision avoidance control taking into consideration driver's characteristics such as capacity for driving, recognition and judgement.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device determines whether a driver is a first user or a second user on the basis of characteristic information representing characteristics of the driver of a vehicle. The first user means a driver who is deemed to perform driving operation in normal response time in response to collision avoidance control. The second user means a driver who is deemed to perform the driving operation in longer response time than the first user in response to the collision avoidance control. The vehicle control device, when determining that the driver is the second user, changes a condition for executing the collision avoidance control to that allowing the same to be executed at a faster timing than the condition for the first user.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】運転能力、認知能力及び判断能力等の運転者の特性を考慮して衝突回避制御を実行する条件を変更することが可能な車両制御装置を提供する。【解決手段】車両制御装置は、車両の運転者の特性を表す特性情報に基いて、運転者が、第１ユーザであるか又は第２ユーザであるかを判定する。第１ユーザは、衝突回避制御に応じて通常の反応時間で運転操作を行うとみなすことができる運転者を表し、第２ユーザは、衝突回避制御に応じて、第１ユーザよりも長い反応時間で運転操作を行うとみなすことができる運転者を表す。車両制御装置は、運転者が第２ユーザであると判定した場合、衝突回避制御の実行条件を、運転者が第１ユーザであると判定した場合に比べて早いタイミングで衝突回避制御が実行されるような条件へと変更する。【選択図】図２
