To provide an optical system which corrects various aberrations such as chromatic aberration by appropriately selecting a lens glass material and offers reduced size and weight.SOLUTION: An optical system provided herein comprises a front lens group GA with positive refractive power, an aperture stop S, and a succeeding lens group GB in order from the object side, the front lens group GA having three or more lenses with positive refractive power and one or more lenses with negative refractive power.
