Summary:To enable a configuration regarding roles of a melting chamber in a melting holding furnace, with which selection can be made between dual roles of melting a treatment material and circulating molten metal and a role mainly of circulating molten metal.SOLUTION: A melting holding furnace of this invention comprises: a holding chamber 3 for molten metal; a melting chamber 1; an outward path 4 that delivers the molten metal out from the melting chamber to the holding chamber; a homeward path 6 that guides the molten metal from the holding chamber to the melting chamber; and a non-contact type stirrer 23 provided inside the melting chamber. The melting chamber includes, in addition to an outer peripheral wall 11 and an inner peripheral wall 13 provided with the non-contact type stirrer therein, a blockage wall 16 that partially blocks a section between the inner peripheral wall and outer peripheral wall, in which the blockage wall is detachably provided while holding a state in which the molten metal circulates through the outward path and the homeward path. In a case in which the blockage wall is removed, the melting chamber can exercise dual roles of melting a treatment material and circulating the molten metal by generating a vortex flow by stirring the molten metal in the melting chamber, and in a case in which the blockage wall is installed, the melting chamber can exercise a roll mainly of circulating the molten metal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】 溶解保持炉の溶解室が果たす役割を、処理材の溶解と溶湯の循環という2つの役割か、溶湯の循環を主とする役割かに選択できる構成にすること。【解決手段】本発明の溶解保持炉は、溶湯の保持室3と、溶解室1と、溶解室から保持室に溶湯を送り出す往路4と、保持室から溶解室に溶湯を引き入れる復路6と、溶解室の内部に設置される非接触型スターラ23とを備える。溶解室は、外周壁11と、非接触型スターラが内部に配置される内周壁13の他に、内周壁と外周壁の間を部分的に封鎖する封鎖壁16を備え、往路と復路から溶湯が出入りする状態を保持しながら封鎖壁を着脱可能に設置する。封鎖壁が取り外された場合には、溶解室で溶湯を撹拌して渦流を発生させることによって、処理材の溶解と溶湯の循環という二つの役割を溶解室に果たさせ、封鎖壁が取り付けられた場合には、溶湯の循環という役割を主として溶解室に果たさせる。【選択図】 図1
