Summary: | To provide an electromagnetic suspension that suppresses variation in a gap length between a stationary element and a movable element which occurs due to stress in other directions than a propulsive direction of an electromagnetic suspension, and has a high damping robust property.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic suspension 100 includes: a pair of shafts 21 connecting between frames and facing each other; a linear motor 10 including a stationary element 11 including an armature core and an armature coil and a movable element 12 fixed between the frames, having a magnet or magnetic material with a first surface and a second surface opposed to the stationary element and moving relatively to the stationary element 11; and an elastic body 20 fitted to the shafts 21 while being compressed between one of the frames and a bearing 22 that is an arm of the stationary element 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
