Summary:To provide an aluminum molding material and a production method of the aluminum molding material, which presents an achromatic gray color and maintains the texture of the base-material surface of an aluminum base material without being influenced by the hue of the aluminum base material.SOLUTION: An aluminum molding material 1 of the present invention comprises: an aluminum base material 10; an anodic oxide film 20 formed on the base-material surface 10a of the aluminum base material 10; and an electrodeposition coating film 30 formed on the surface 20a of the anodic oxide film 20, the opposite surface side to the surface side 10a of the aluminum base material 10. The electrodeposition coating film 30 includes a white pigment 32 and a black pigment 33. The content of the white pigment 32 in the electrodeposition coating film 30 is between 1.5 mass% and 2.3 mass%.
