Summary:To provide a production system that can automatically and efficiently change a layout of devices located around a machine tool.SOLUTION: The production system includes a machine tool, peripheral devices arranged around the machine tool, an automatic guided vehicle 20 that engages and transports the peripheral devices, a control unit 50 that controls the automatic guided vehicle 20, and a layout instruction device 60 that sends layout information regarding types, positions, and orientations of the peripheral devices to be changed to the control unit 50 together with a change command. The control unit 50 includes: a position recognition unit 54 that recognizes position information regarding the position and orientation of the automatic guided vehicle 20, and current arrangement information regarding the types, current positions, and orientations of the peripheral devices; and a layout execution unit 55.
