Summary:To realize a light source for illumination that can provide white light that does not decrease in brightness even when continuously lit for a long time and has high color rendering characteristics, which is human-friendly white light that does not contain an excessive blue light component.SOLUTION: A white LED according to an embodiment of the present invention includes at least three types of members including an ultraviolet to purple light emitting LED, a blue phosphor that converts primary light emitted by the LED into blue light, and a YAG-based phosphor that absorbs a part of secondary light emitted by the blue phosphor, and converts green to yellow light. White light which is a mixture of blue light and green to yellow light is emitted from the white LED, and the white light has high color performance characteristics and a high light beam retention rate, and the excellent characteristics in which measures are taken for a problem such as blue light hazard can be exhibited.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】過剰な青色光成分を含有しない人体に優しい白色光で、長時間連続点灯させても明るさが低下せず、同時に高い演色特性も有する白色光を提供可能な照明用光源を実現する。【解決手段】実施形態によれば、本発明の白色LEDは、紫外乃至紫色発光LEDと、前記LEDの発する一次光を、青色光に変換する青色蛍光体、そして前記青色蛍光体の発する二次光の一部を吸収し、緑色乃至黄色光に変換するYAG系蛍光体による少なくとも3種類の部材を含む。前記白色LEDから、青色光と緑色乃至黄色光等の混合された白色光が放射され、前記白色光は、高い演色特性と、高い光束維持率を有し、ブルーライトハザード等の問題にも対策のなされた優れた特性を発揮することができる。【選択図】 図4
