Summary:To provide a fusion splicer capable of restricting free movement of an optical fiber even after a windshield cover is opened.SOLUTION: A fusion splicer includes a device body, a pair of glass holding parts 13, a pair of first clamps 14, a pair of second clamps 15, a third clamp 16, and a windshield cover. The device body has a cover driving part for opening and closing the windshield cover and a clamp driving part for opening and closing the pair of second clamps.
