Summary:To inhibit a sense of incongruity from being given to a driver.SOLUTION: An engine device includes an engine, and an exhaust recirculation device having a communication pipe communicating an exhaust pipe and an intake pipe of the engine, and a valve provided in the communication pipe. When that the valve bites foreign matters is detected and the engine is stopped, foreign matter elimination control is executed to open/close the valve. Thus, there is no variation in the revolution speed of the engine when the foreign matter elimination control is executed, to inhibit a sense of incongruity from being given to a driver.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】運転者に違和感を与えるのを抑制する。【解決手段】エンジンと、エンジンの排気管と吸気管とを連絡する連絡管および連絡管に設けられたバルブを有する排気再循環装置と、を備えるエンジン装置であって、バルブによる異物の噛み込みが検出され且つエンジンが停止されているときには、バルブを開閉させる異物排除制御を実行する。これにより、異物排除制御を実行する際にエンジンの回転数の変動が生じないから、運転者に違和感を与えるのを抑制することができる。【選択図】図２
