To provide an image forming apparatus that, when a roll provided movably between a use position and a retracted position is conveyed in a state where the roll has moved to the retracted position, can prevent the ends of a rotation shaft of the roll from colliding with components present around the ends at an interval and impacting the components.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a roll 250 that rotates while a rotation shaft 251 is supported by a bearing 61; support means 62 that supports the bearing 61 and its attachment 63 movably between a use position of the roll 250 and a retracted position separated from the use position; and contact parts 7 (71 73) that are provided for the bearing 61 and one or both of the attachment 63 and support means 62, and are brought into contact with the support means 62 opposite to the bearing 61 and the attachment 63 or parts of the bearing 61 (622, 615) when the roll 250 moves to the retracted position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】使用位置と退避位置との間を移動可能に設けられているロールが退避位置に移動している状態で運搬されるときに、ロールの回転軸の端部がその周囲に間隔をおいて存在する部品に衝突して衝撃を与えることを抑制できる画像形成装置を提供する。【解決手段】画像形成装置は、軸受６１に回転軸２５１が支持されて回転するロール２５０と、軸受６１とその付属部品６３をロール２５０の使用位置とその使用位置から離間した退避位置の間で移動可能に支持する支持手段６２と、軸受６１および付属部品６３と支持手段６２の一方又は双方に設けられ、ロール２５０が退避位置に移動したときに軸受６１および付属部品６３が対向する支持手段６２又は軸受６１の一部（６２２，６１５）に接触する接触部７（７１，７３）とを備える。【選択図】図３
