To provide an antivirus agent capable of quickly inactivating various types of viruses, and a method for inactivating viruses.SOLUTION: The antivirus agent according to the present invention contains metal particles. The metal particles include platinum particles. Furthermore, the antivirus agent preferably contains platinum particles and silver particles. The antivirus agent according to the present invention preferably contains the platinum particles in an amount of 10-99.99 pts.mass with respect to 100 pts.mass of the total of the platinum particles and the silver particles. The antivirus agent according to the present invention can quickly inactivate various types of viruses.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】種々のウイルスを速やかに不活性化することができる抗ウイルス剤及びウイルスの不活性化方法を提供する。【解決手段】本発明に係る抗ウイルス剤は、金属粒子を含有する。前記金属粒子が白金粒子を含有する。また、抗ウイルス剤は白金粒子及び銀粒子を含有することも好ましい。本発明に係る抗ウイルス剤は、好ましくは前記白金粒子及び前記銀粒子の合計１００質量部に対し、前記白金粒子が１０〜９９．９９質量部含まれる。本発明に係る抗ウイルス剤によれば、種々のウイルスを速やかに不活性化することができる。【選択図】なし
