Summary:To provide a communication wire that has a reduced diameter while ensuring the characteristic impedance value of the required size.SOLUTION: A communication wire 1 has a twisted pair wire 10 obtained by twisting together a pair of insulation wires 11,11, each insulation wire comprising a conductor 12 and an insulation coating 13 covering the outer circumference of the conductor 12 and having a conductor cross-sectional area of less than 0.22 mm2. The communication wire 1 has a characteristic impedance in the range of 100 ± 10 Ω.
