Summary: | To provide a method capable of improving the recovery rate of platinum (Pt) in a method for mutually separating a platinum group element from a platinum group element-containing substance containing an impurity element.SOLUTION: The present invention is a method for mutually separating a platinum group element from a platinum group element-containing substance to the mixture containing an impurity element, the method including: a leaching step S1 of suspending a platinum group element-containing substance into a hydrochloric acid solution and adding an oxidizing agent to the mixture and subjecting the mixture to leaching to obtain a platinum group element-containing leach production solution; a solvent extraction step S2 (S2A, S2B) of subjecting the resultant leach production solution to a solvent extraction treatment; and a cake formation step S3 of adding potassium chloride to the extraction residual liquid obtained by the solvent extraction treatment so that the concentration of the potassium chloride in the extraction residual liquid becomes 20 g/L or more to form a precipitate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
