To provide a method capable of improving the recovery rate of platinum (Pt) in a method for mutually separating a platinum group element from a platinum group element-containing substance containing an impurity element.SOLUTION: The present invention is a method for mutually separating a platinum group element from a platinum group element-containing substance to the mixture containing an impurity element, the method including: a leaching step S1 of suspending a platinum group element-containing substance into a hydrochloric acid solution and adding an oxidizing agent to the mixture and subjecting the mixture to leaching to obtain a platinum group element-containing leach production solution; a solvent extraction step S2 (S2A, S2B) of subjecting the resultant leach production solution to a solvent extraction treatment; and a cake formation step S3 of adding potassium chloride to the extraction residual liquid obtained by the solvent extraction treatment so that the concentration of the potassium chloride in the extraction residual liquid becomes 20 g/L or more to form a precipitate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】不純物元素を含む白金族元素含有物から白金族元素を相互分離する方法において、白金（Ｐｔ）の回収率を向上させることができる方法を提供する。【解決手段】本発明は、不純物元素を含む白金族元素含有物から白金族元素を相互分離する方法であって、白金族元素含有物を塩酸溶液に懸濁し酸化剤を添加して浸出に付し、白金族元素を含む浸出生成液を得る浸出工程Ｓ１と、得られる浸出生成液に対して溶媒抽出処理を施す溶媒抽出工程Ｓ２（Ｓ２Ａ，Ｓ２Ｂ）と、溶媒抽出処理により得られる抽出残液に、塩化カリウムをその抽出残液中で２０ｇ／Ｌ以上となるように添加して沈澱物を生成するケーキ化工程Ｓ３と、を含む。【選択図】図１
