Summary:To enhance the performance of an electrochemical cell.SOLUTION: An electrochemical cell comprises: an electrolyte layer containing a solid oxide; an air electrode disposed on one side of the electrolyte layer in a first direction; and a fuel electrode disposed on the other side of the electrolyte layer in the first direction and containing a metal including Ni, and an ion conducting oxide. The fuel electrode has a particular region in the fuel electrode, which is a region ranging from an interface with the electrolyte layer to a distance of 10 μm from the interface in at least one cross section in parallel with the first direction.
