Summary:To improve convenience of an imaging device having a function of continuously focusing a subject.SOLUTION: Each time performing focus processing, it is determined whether a subject is a stationary subject which remains stationary in an optical axis direction or a moving subject which moves in the optical axis direction on the basis of the amount of lens driving calculated based on a detection result detected by a focus detection unit. Notification means for providing a notification of focusing is used to control such that different notification processing is performed between a case where it is determined as the stationary subject and a case where it is determined as the moving subject.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】被写体に合焦し続ける機能を有する撮像装置の利便性を向上させる。【解決手段】合焦処理を実行するたびに、焦点検出部が検出した検出結果に基づいて算出したレンズ駆動量に基づいて、被写体が光軸方向に静止する静止被写体か光軸方向に移動する動被写体かを判定する。そして、合焦したことを報知する報知手段を用いて、静止被写体であると判定された場合と、動被写体であると判定された場合とで、異なる報知処理を実行するように制御する。【選択図】図3
