The base layer 91 is on a transfer barrel side when the jacket is put on the transfer barrel. The elastic layer 93 is softer than the base layer 91 and edges 931 and 932 in the direction of the axis of rotation of the transfer barrel are located outside the base layer 91.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】高硬度の層の端縁が露出しているジャケットに比べて、着脱の際の作業性を向上させたジャケット、並びに、そのジャケット備えた転写装置および画像形成装置を提供する。【解決手段】ジャケット９０は、転写胴に装着されるジャケットであり、基層９１、接着層９２、弾性層９３、および表面層９４からなる層構造を有する。ここで、基層９１は、転写胴に装着されたときに転写胴側となる。また弾性層９３は、基層９１よりも低い硬度を有するとともに、転写胴の回転軸方向の端縁９３１，９３２が基層９１よりはみ出た位置にある。【選択図】図４
