Summary:To provide a fine barium titanate particle powder which has high purity, high crystallinity and high dispersibility, and is stable for a long period of time in an aqueous solvent, and to provide its production method and a dispersion, wherein a barium carbonate coating layer functions to suppress the hydrolysis of barium titanate in an aqueous solvent and suppress the elution of Ba2+ ions from the barium titanate particles.SOLUTION: A barium titanate particle powder having an average primary particle diameter of 10 to 300 nm is characterized in that an average layer thickness of an amorphous barium carbonate coating layer is 0.08 to 2.0 nm. A method for producing the barium titanate particle powder, comprises: a first step of adjusting the concentration of barium titanate particles and the concentration of Ba2+ ions in an aqueous solvent; and a second step of coating surfaces of barium titanate particles with amorphous barium carbonate by reacting the Ba2+ ions extracted from the barium titanate particles with Na2CO3.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】本発明は、高純度、高結晶性、且つ高分散性を有する微細なチタン酸バリウム粒子粉末であって、水系溶媒中で長期安定なチタン酸バリウム粒子粉末、及びその製造方法、並びに分散体を提供する。炭酸バリウム被覆層は水溶媒中でチタン酸バリウムの加水分解を抑制し、チタン酸バリウム粒子からのBa2+イオンの溶出を抑える働きをする。【解決手段】平均一次粒子径が10〜300nmのチタン酸バリウム粒子粉末において、アモルファス状の炭酸バリウム被覆層の平均層厚が0.08〜2.0nmであることを特徴とするチタン酸バリウム粒子粉末。水溶媒中チタン酸バリウム粒子の濃度及びBa2+イオン濃度を調整する第一工程、チタン酸バリウム粒子から抽出したBa2+イオンとNa2CO3と反応させてチタン酸バリウム粒子表面をアモルファス状の炭酸バリウムで被覆させる第二工程を含むチタン酸バリウム粒子粉末の製造方法。【選択図】なし
