Summary:To provide a tapered roller bearing which can prevent an abrupt rise of a temperature between a large end face of tapered rollers and a large flange of an inner ring when the tapered roller bearing is stopped for a long period of time, and after that, the tapered roller bearing is started.SOLUTION: A tapered roller bearing has: a large-diameter side annular part 12 extending in a peripheral direction along large end faces 11 of a plurality of tapered rollers 4; a small-diameter side annular part 13 extending in the peripheral direction along small end faces 10 of the plurality of tapered rollers 4; and a plurality of column parts 14 for connecting the large-diameter side annular part 12 and the small-diameter side annular part 13. The large-diameter side annular part 12 has a large-diameter side pocket face 16 opposing the large end face 11 of each of the tapered rollers 4, and an oil hold recess 20 which is opened while straddling a clearance between an internal peripheral face of the large-diameter side annular part 12 and the large-diameter side pocket face 16.
