Summary:To provide a continuous casting method for molten metal, in which a cumulative erosion shape is predicted for a refractory material applied to a nozzle to be immersed into a casting mold, and in which immersion time of the nozzle is determined for each immersion position so that a residual thickness of the refractory material is not less than a predetermined reference value.SOLUTION: In a continuous casting method for molten metal, a nozzle is vertically mounted to a bottom wall surface of a tundish, a refractory material is applied on its periphery, the nozzle is immersed into molten metal in a casting mold, and the molten metal is cast while immersion positions of the nozzle are changed. In the continuous casting method, an upper surface of the molten metal in the casting mold is covered with mold flux, a cumulative erosion shape is calculated by adding predicted erosion shapes for each of the immersion positions, and immersion time of the nozzle at each immersion position is determined such that a residual thickness of the refractory material in the cumulative erosion shape is not less than a predetermined reference value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】鋳型に浸漬させるノズルに施工された耐火物の累積溶損形状を予測し、耐火物の残厚が予め定められた基準値未満にならないように各浸漬位置におけるノズルの浸漬時間を定められる溶融金属の連続鋳造方法を提供する。
