Summary:To provide a manufacturing method of a terminal-equipped wire and a terminal-equipped wire that can effectively suppress the disconnection of a metal wire constituting a conductor of the wire.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a terminal-equipped wire according to the present invention includes steps of: peeling off an insulating coating 5 to expose a part of a conductor 4; sandwiching the exposed part 4a of the conductor 4 between the pressure surfaces 22 by using a pair of vibrators 21 each having a semicircular first pressure surface 22, applying ultrasonic vibration to the exposed part 4a of the conductor 4 by the pair of vibrators 21 in that state in a direction orthogonal to the pressure applied direction by the pair of vibrators 21 to join metal wires constituting the conductor 4 while maintaining the cross-sectional shape of the exposed part 4a of the conductor 4 in a circular shape; and sandwiching a plurality of locations of the tubular portion 8 in the second pressing surfaces 26 by using a pair of compression dies 25 each having a multi-faceted second pressing surface 26 with a joint portion 4a of the conductor 4 inserted into the tubular portion 8 to connect the tubular portion 8 to the joint portion 4a of the conductor 4 at a plurality of locations.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】電線の導体を構成している金属素線の断線を効果的に抑制することができる端子付き電線の製造方法及び端子付き電線を提供する。【解決手段】本発明の端子付き電線の製造方法は、絶縁被覆5を剥がして導体4の一部を露出させる工程と、それぞれ半円形の第1加圧面22を有する一対の振動子21を用いて導体4の露出部4aを加圧面22で挟み込み、その状態で一対の振動子21により導体4の露出部4aに超音波振動を一対の振動子21による圧力の印加方向と直交する方向に加えることにより、導体4の露出部4aの断面形状が円形に維持された状態で導体4を構成する金属素線どうしを接合する工程と、導体4の接合部4aを筒部8内に挿入した状態で、それぞれ多面形の第2加圧面26を有する一対の圧縮ダイス25を用いて筒部8の複数箇所それぞれを第2加圧面26で挟み込むことにより、導体4の接合部4aに筒部8を複数箇所において接続する工程と、を含む。【選択図】図3
