Summary:To provide a thermoelectric conversion material that is effective for construction of an efficient thermoelectric power generation system and has a high ZT.SOLUTION: A skutterudite compound to be a base is expressed by a composition formula of CexFe4-yCoySbz, where 0<x<1, 0<y≤1, 12.0≤z<12.5 are satisfied. By adding Sn to a Ce site of the composition system, a ZT is improved. Then, by making Co be replaced with Fe and making z of Sb become equal to or larger than Z=12, a stoichiometric composition of skutterudite, while maintaining a crystalline structure of skutterudite, it is thinkable that Sn enters a site of Ce, not a site of Sb. However, when an addition amount of Sn is large, Sn also enters a site of Sb. So, a thermoelectric characteristic can be improved by making Sn be contained in a range of 0.3 mole or less per 1 mole of skutterudite of the composition system while appropriately selecting amounts of Fe, Co, Sb.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】 効率の良い熱電発電システムの構築に有効な、ZTが高い熱電変換材料を提供する。【解決手段】 ベースとなるスクッテルダイト系の化合物は、CexFe4−yCoySbzの組成式であらわされ、0<x<1、0<y≦1、12.0≦z<12.5を満たすものとする。この組成系において、CeサイトにSnを添加することで、ZTを向上させるものである。ここで、CoをFeに置換させて、スクッテルダイトの結晶構造を維持しつつ、Sbをスクッテルダイトの化学量論組成であるZ=12以上とすることで、Snは、Sbのサイトではなく、Ceのサイトに入ると考えられる。但し、Sn添加量が多くなるとSbサイトへもSnが入ってしまうため、Fe、Co、Sbの量を適切に選択しつつ、この組成系のスクッテルダイト1モル当たり、Snを0.3モル以下の範囲で含有させることで、熱電特性を向上させることができる。【選択図】図1
