Summary: | To control differential pressure between the fuel electrode side and the air electrode side, without requiring manpower.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system 16 includes a fuel cell 13 generating electricity when oxidizing gas is supplied to an air electrode 113 and fuel gas is supplied to a fuel electrode 109, a differential pressure gauge 90 for measuring differential pressure of the air electrode 113 and the fuel electrode 109, a first vent valve 46 for exhausting air from the fuel electrode 109 to the outside of the system, a speed controller for adjusting valve opening speed for bringing the first vent valve 46 from closed state to open state, when controlling the first vent valve 46 from a closed state to an open state, and a control arrangement 58 for controlling the first vent valve 46, exhausting air from the fuel electrode 109 to the outside of the system, from closed state to open state by using the speed controller when a determination is made that the differential pressure goes above a first prescribed differential pressure value, over a prescribed time, and when the differential pressure goes below a second prescribed differential pressure value smaller than the first prescribed differential pressure value, for controlling the first vent valve 46 from the open state to the closed state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
