Summary:To prevent the residence of condensed water while achieving the compact figure of an internal combustion engine by forming an EGR internal passage in a cylinder head.SOLUTION: An EGR internal passage 20 consists of a laterally long first part 21 formed on a lower part of a cylinder head, a vertically long second part 22 rising from a terminal end of the first part 21, and a downwardly inclining third part 23 communicated with an upper part of the second part 22. In a rear face 12 of the cylinder head, a mounting hole 35 communicated with the second part 22 is bored, and an EGR valve 29 is mounted in the mounting hole 35. A starting end of the first part 21 is opened to an exhaust side face of the cylinder head. Even when condensed water is generated in any site of the EGR internal passage 20, the condensed water flows down from the starting end of the first part 21 to an exhaust system or flows down from a terminal end of the third part 23 to a surge tank or the like. So, there is no possibility that the condensed water resides in the EGR internal passage 20 to corrode the cylinder head.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】シリンダヘッドにEGR内部通路を形成して内燃機関のコンパクト化を図りつつ、凝縮水が溜まることを防止する。
