To provide a line-of-sight direction estimation device which can appropriately perform calibration.SOLUTION: A line-of-sight direction estimation device 1 comprises: a camera 10 which captures images of a driver; a line-of-sight direction estimation unit 11 which estimates a line-of-sight direction of the driver on the basis of the images captured by the camera 10; a peripheral information acquisition unit 14 which acquires peripheral information about peripheral conditions of his or her vehicle; and a calibration unit 13 which determines a period in which it is determined that the driver is looking forward, on the basis of the peripheral information and calibrates a reference direction for use in estimation of the line-of-sight direction on the basis of images of the driver captured during this period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】適切に較正を行うことができる視線方向推定装置を提供する。【解決手段】視線方向推定装置１は、運転者を撮影するカメラ１０と、カメラ１０にて撮影した画像に基づいて、運転者の視線の方向を推定する視線方向推定部１１と、車両の周辺の状況に関する周辺情報を取得する周辺情報取得部１４と、周辺情報に基づいて運転者が前方を見ていると判断される期間を決定し、期間に撮影された運転者の画像に基づいて、視線方向の推定に用いる基準方向を較正する較正部１３とを備える。【選択図】図１
