Summary: | To provide a copper powder having a high single crystallinity, a small particle diameter and a small distribution of particle diameters and to provide a method for producing a copper powder.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a copper powder, which comprises: generating a copper chloride gas by the reaction between metal copper and a chlorine-containing gas; generating a plurality of copper particles by the reaction between a copper chloride gas and a reducing gas; reducing a chlorine content of the plurality of copper particles; and reducing an oxygen content of the plurality of copper particles. The removal of the copper chloride may be performed by treating the plurality of copper particles with an aqueous solution of a base.
