Summary:To provide a method for producing magnetic particles (cobalt ferrite) having a uniform particle size with a μm-scale average particle size, and to provide cobalt ferrite particles.SOLUTION: A method for producing cobalt ferrite particles includes subjecting a cobalt ferrite precursor formed of a ferrous salt and a cobalt salt to heating treatment in the presence of a sulfite salt, to obtain desired cobalt ferrite magnetic particles, wherein: the heating treatment is performed within a temperature range of 100°C or more and 190°C or less in a pressure vessel under a hydrothermal condition; or the heating treatment is performed within a temperature range of 60°C or more and less than 100°C under atmospheric pressure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】平均粒子径がμmオーダーでそろった磁性粒子(コバルトフェライト)の製造方法、およびコバルトフェライト粒子を提供する。【解決手段】第一鉄塩とコバルト塩から形成されたコバルトフェライト前駆体を、亜硫酸塩の存在下で加熱処理をおこなうことにより、目的とするコバルトフェライト磁性粒子を得るものであり、熱処理は圧力容器中で100℃以上、190℃以下の温度範囲で水熱条件でおこなうこと、あるいは常圧で60℃以上、100℃未満の温度範囲で加熱をおこなうことからなる、コバルトフェライト粒子の製造方法。【選択図】図1
