To provide an absorbent article that has an improved body fluid absorption amount and absorption rate and is capable of implementing quick absorption and leak prevention by holding body fluid in an appropriate part on an absorber.SOLUTION: An absorbent article includes a liquid permeable top sheet, a liquid impermeable back sheet, and an absorber made of absorbent fibers and highly absorbent polymers. The absorber has both end parts in the width direction that are bent on the body side throughout the whole length in the longer direction along a pair of bend lines interposing the center line in the width direction therebetween to hold parts on both sides interposing each bend line therebetween so as to face each other. In a state in which both end parts in the width direction of the absorber are bent on the body side, both end parts in the width direction of the absorber are separated from each other in the width direction. In the absorber's region between the two bend lines is provided a recess extending to at least the center part in the longer direction of the absorber. A clearance between both end parts in the width direction of the absorber is shorter than the recess's maximum size in the width direction.
