Summary:To provide an atomic oscillator capable of enhancing frequency stability, and a frequency signal generation system.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, an atomic oscillator includes an atom cell having wall parts for defining an internal space for storing an alkali metal atom, a light-emitting element for emitting light for exciting the alkali metal atom, and a light detection element for detecting the light transmitting the atom cell. The atom cell has a first part for storing an alkali metal atom of gas to cause the light from a light emission part to transmit along an x axis, a second part for housing a liquid or solid alkali metal atom, and a third part located between the first part and the second part to connect the first part and the second part. In the third part, distance between the two wall parts facing each other along a y axis perpendicular to the x axis decreases from the first part toward the second part along the y axis at a fixed reduction rate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 【課題】周波数安定性を高めることができる原子発振器および周波数信号生成システムを提供すること。
