To provide a lighting system capable of performing more stable operation.SOLUTION: Provided is a lighting system including a lighting device for driving a light source, and a control unit for controlling the driving of the light source by the lighting device. The control unit communicates with an external device, converts an external signal input from the external device into a control signal applicable by the lighting device, and transmits the converted control signal to the lighting device, while periodically transmitting a communication signal to the lighting device.
