Summary:To provide a polyethylene resin excellent in crosslinking property, insulation property and cost, and to provide a solar cell sealing material and a solar cell module using the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a polyethylene resin which is an ethylene α-olefin copolymer obtained by performing polymerization using following components (A), (B) and catalyst system including a catalyst activity improving agent represented by specific (C1) or (C2): component (A): a crosslinking metallocene compound having an indenyl skeleton with a substituent; and component (B): a boron compound which is represented by general formula (I) and reacts with the component (A) to form an ion pair, and has a thermal decomposition temperature at which a change in weight occurs under an N2 atmosphere of less than 200°C.
