Summary:To select, in a radio communication device having a plurality of antennas, an appropriate antenna to be used for radio communication, regardless of the preamble signal length of a radio communication packet.SOLUTION: A selection unit 112 selects an antenna from among an antenna 111-1 to an antenna 111-N. Using the selected antenna, a radio communication unit 113 performs radio communication. The radio communication unit 113 receives a synchronization request from the radio communication device of a communication opposite party, using the first antenna, to transmit a transmission request to the radio communication device of the communication opposite party. Next, the selection unit 112 selects a second antenna, and the radio communication unit 113 receives a transmission request response from the radio communication device of the communication opposite party, using the second antenna.
