To provide a driving device having a structure in which oil stored inside a housing can be easily exchanged and an oil exchange method for exchanging oil stored inside the housing of the driving device.SOLUTION: A driving device 1 that rotates an axle of a vehicle comprises: a motor; a speed reducer 4 connected to the motor; a differential device 5 that is connected to the speed reducer 4 to rotate the axle around a differential axle; and a housing 6 having a gear housing part 82 that houses the speed reducer 4 and the differential device 5 therein. The gear housing part 82 houses oil therein. The housing 6 has an oil draining hole 83a and an oil pouring hole 83b linking the inside to the outside of the housing 6, a first plug member 100 that is detachably attached to the oil draining hole 83a to close the oil draining hole 83a, and a second plug member 101 that is detachably attached to the oil pouring hole 83b to close the oil pouring hole 83b.
