To provide an angular ball bearing which can hold a larger quantity of lubricants at an internal peripheral face of a cage while securing a load capacity of the bearing in a limited space in the bearing, and the cage for the angular ball bearing.SOLUTION: This angular ball bearing has a plurality of balls 3 interposed between an inner ring 1 and an outer ring 2, and is held in a pocket Pt in which the balls 3 are arranged in a plurality of points of a cylindrical cage 4 in a circumferential direction. In the cage 4, an area ratio being a ratio of an area of an internal peripheral face 4a except for the pocket Pt at the cage 4 with respect to all ball surface areas obtained by multiplying the surface areas of the balls 3 by the number of the balls is set at 0.35 or higher and 0.5 or lower.
