Summary:To provide an open type compressor which can hold an enlarged bearing part therein without enlarging a housing which holds the bearing part.SOLUTION: An open type compressor 1 includes: a front housing 3 in which a recessed part 3a for holding a main bearing 7 on an axis X is formed at a compression mechanism side end part; and a removal prevention member 31 which is attached to the compression mechanism side end part of the front housing 3 in a state that the main bearing 7 is held in the recessed part 3a. The recessed part 3a includes a cylindrical first inner peripheral surface 3c having a first diameter D1 which is formed with the axis X set to its center. The removal prevention member 31 includes a cylindrical second inner peripheral surface 31e having a second diameter D2 which is formed with the axis X set to its center and smaller than the first diameter D1.
