To provide a heat pump water heater which is advantageous in achieving both suppression of excessive rise in a hot water tapping temperature and stabilization of the hot water tapping temperature.SOLUTION: A heat pump water heater 30 includes a control device 50 for adjusting the pump rotational frequency, which is the rotational frequency of a circulation pump 6a, so that the hot water tapping temperature becomes equal to the target hot water tapping temperature during a boiling operation. During the boiling operation, the control device 50 can execute pump acceleration control for, when the hot water tapping temperature has reached an upper limit temperature higher than the target hot water tapping temperature, accelerating a pump so that the pump rotational frequency increases by predetermined rotational frequency. When the pump acceleration control execution frequency, which is the frequency in which the pump acceleration control is executed in predetermined time in the middle of the boiling operation, has reached first reference frequency, the control device 50 prohibits the pump acceleration control after that.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】出湯温度の過度な上昇を抑制することと、出湯温度を安定させることとを両立する上で有利になるヒートポンプ給湯装置を提供する。【解決手段】ヒートポンプ給湯装置３０は、沸上げ運転のときに、出湯温度が目標出湯温度に等しくなるように、循環ポンプ６ａの回転数であるポンプ回転数を調整する制御装置５０を備える。沸上げ運転のときに、制御装置５０は、出湯温度が、目標出湯温度よりも高い上限温度に達すると、ポンプ回転数が所定回転数上昇するようにポンプを加速させるポンプ加速制御を実行可能である。沸上げ運転の最中の所定時間内にポンプ加速制御が実行された回数であるポンプ加速制御実行回数が第一基準回数に達すると、制御装置５０は、それ以降のポンプ加速制御を禁止する。【選択図】図２
