To provide, in a barrel polishing machine effecting polishing of a work by giving a stable movement to a barrel tank where works for polishing treatment are loaded and accommodated, a work piece storage holding device for multiple purposes capable of selective use and retention of a barrel tank of a size corresponding to the amount of works for polishing treatment.SOLUTION: The device is assembled with a vessel receiver apparatus 8 for detachably accommodating and holding a barrel tank 2 (2A, 2B, 2C) where a plurality of works W for polishing treatment are loaded and accommodated, and a vessel fixing apparatus 9 for detachably fixing and supporting the barrel tank 2 (2A, 2B, 2C) accommodated and held in the vessel receiver apparatus 8.
