To provide a ventilation device which, in the case where, for example, an elderly user operates the ventilation device in a predetermined manner, allows a family living apart from the user to confirm safety of the user by checking the operation of the user, and in which energy is not wastefully consumed by a ventilation operation being performed when ventilation is not necessary.SOLUTION: A ventilation device includes: a transmitting/receiving part 22 for performing transmission/reception of a communication signal with external equipment including a communication function; and a communication switch for issuing communication to the external equipment 2X.
