To provide an aqueous ink composition which solves problems such as harmful effects on an ink caused by viscosity of ink increased by addition of excessive amounts of water-soluble organic solvents and caused by decomposition of ureas occurring at high temperature by addition of urea and/or urea derivatives, and which has good ink stability and excellent dry-up resistance.SOLUTION: The aqueous ink composition comprises: water; a colorant; at least one of a polysaccharide and a synthetic polymer; and a cyclic oligosaccharide represented by a specific structural formula. The cyclic oligosaccharide has a cyclic structure in which constitutional units being glucose or derivatives thereof are linked by β-1,4 glucoside linkage.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】過剰量の水溶性有機溶剤の添加で発生するインキの粘度上昇や、尿素及び／又は尿素誘導体の添加により高温下で発生する尿素類の分解によるインキへの悪影響等の問題点を解消し、良好なインキ安定性、及び、優れた耐ドライアップ性を備えた水性インキ組成物の提供。【解決手段】水と、着色剤と、多糖類および合成高分子の少なくとも一方と、特定構造式で表される環状オリゴ糖とを含有する水性インキ組成物。前記環状オリゴ糖は、グルコース又はその誘導体である構成単位がβ−１，４グルコシド結合により連結された環状構造を持つ。【選択図】なし
