Summary:To provide a technique of shaping a light emission waveform highly accurately even when using a light-emitting element with a high load.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus includes: an image station which generates a toner image on a photoreceptor; an exposure unit which exposes the surface of the photoreceptor; a density detection unit which detects the toner density of the toner image; a waveform shaping unit which shapes the current to be supplied to the exposure unit; and a control unit which controls the waveform shaping unit. The control unit shapes the current supplied to the exposure unit with a shaping signal output by the waveform shaping unit, causes the exposure unit to emit light at the first frequency and the first light emission duty ratio to generate a first toner image on the photoreceptor, causes the exposure unit to emit light at the second frequency different from the first frequency and the first light emission duty ratio to generate a second toner image on the photoreceptor, causes the density detection unit to acquire the density of each of the first toner image and the second toner image, and adjusts the shaping signal on the basis of the density difference between the first toner image and the second toner image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】高負荷の発光素子を使用した場合でも高精度に発光波形を整形する技術を提供する。【解決手段】画像形成装置は、感光体にトナー像を生成する画像ステーションと、感光体の表面を露光する露光部と、トナー像のトナー濃度を検出する濃度検出部と、露光部に供給する電流を整形する波形整形部と、波形整形部を制御する制御部とを備える。制御部は、波形整形部が出力する整形信号により、露光部に供給する電流を整形し、第1の周波数および第1の発光デューティ比で、露光部を発光させて、感光体に第1のトナー像を生成し、第1の周波数と異なる第2の周波数および第1の発光デューティ比で、露光部を発光させて、感光体に第2のトナー像を生成し、濃度検出部により、第1のトナー像および第2のトナー像のそれぞれの濃度を取得し、第1のトナー像および第2のトナー像の濃度差に基づいて、整形信号を調整する。【選択図】図6
