Summary:To provide a display device which a user can see with both hands of the user unoccupied while lying down on the user's back and which can reduce glare the user is feeling.SOLUTION: A display device 100 is of a hanging type and includes: a display unit 110a having a plurality of pixels 111 and displaying an image corresponding to a picture signal; and a control unit 122 for controlling the display unit 110a. The control unit 122 controls the white peak luminance to be displayed in the display unit 110a in the white peak luminance adjustment range of which minimum value is 10% or lower of the highest luminance the display unit 110a can display.
