Summary:To provide a flow control valve that can provide better flow resolution at low fluid flow rates.SOLUTION: A flow control valve 10 includes a valve body 11, a stepping motor 41, and valve member 28. The valve member 28 includes a poppet 30 that can slide longitudinally within a bore 19 of the valve body 11 when the stepping motor 41 receives electricity. A diaphragm 48, extending inwardly from the valve body 11 to the valve member 28, deflects in response to movement of the valve member 28. A flow control needle 49, mounted on the poppet 30 of the valve member 28, is at least partially received in an outlet port 23. The flow control needle 49 cooperates with an inner surface of the outlet port 23 to define an outlet flow orifice that varies in size when the valve member 28 moves between open and closed positions.
