To provide a method in which a depression can be formed in solid cotton without generating the waste of a raw material nor requiring the need of a large scale of facilities.SOLUTION: The method is characterized in that heating is performed for a predetermined time in a state where at least one surface side in a thickness direction of plate shaped solid cotton 1 is brought into contact with predetermined male molds M1, M2, and then cooling is performed to form predetermined depressions C1, C2 corresponding to the male molds M1, M2 in the solid cotton 1.
